Surprise!!

That's right - Robb and I are having a baby!! I haven't had an ultrasound yet, so that is not really my baby, but it is 8 weeks along - just like ours! Our VERY unexpected Christmas miracle will be born in late July. This has been quite a month for us! I'm graduating next Saturday, Robb got good news about getting a job in Salem (the Bank is likely to transfer him to a nice Salem branch), we bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, and we will start our 3 day - 31 hour drive to Salem next Sunday to arrive just in time for Christmas, AND now we are having a BABY!!! We have so much to be thankful for this Christmas season!

Same old...

I was going to update my blog, but then I realized that I'm doing the exact thing right now that I was doing 3 months ago, so there isn't much to say. I'm graduating in 3 weeks and I have a job lined up in Oregon. We have yet to sign the contract, but hopefully I'll get that this week. Robb is still in the process of transferring with US Bank. Hopefully that will all work out smoothly.

I got to go home to Ohio this weekend to see my family. Unfortunatly Robb had to work Friday and Saturday, so he stayed in St. Louis. I got to see my whole family (except my brother) and everyone is doing well. Dad is recovering well from his lung transplant and is even feeling good enough to travel out here for graduation. Mom is dating a guy named Bob and we went to his Thanksgiving together on Friday. Max is growing like a weed and Kate and Randy are doing well too. Kate got her CPA and Randy got a new job, so we had a lot to celebrate.

Thankfully now that I'm finished with classes, life is very different than the first 3 years at Logan. Instead of going to school every morning at 7:15, I work as a Teaching Assistant for Basic Class for the younger classes. It is funny to see how much we've learned so far and to compare to people who still struggle to find a PSIS. In the afternoons I treat patients in our outpatient clinics. Thanks to God, I'm done with all of my clinic requirements already, so I just have to log hours and I'm in the process of transfering all my patients to other interns. It is hard to see them go, but I'm ready to be done and out of here. In the evenings and my spare time I've been taking our house by storm in trying to get rid of everything possible and to condense all that we own so that it will all fit in our 2 small cars without the cost of a U-Haul. I tried to sell a bunch of stuff on E-Bay, but I ended up losing a ton of money in shipping costs. I had no idea how complicated it could be (and time consuming!!) Everything else is going to Goodwill. You'd be amazed how much stuff 2 people can collect in a short amount of time! So far we have a futon and a beer fridge waiting for us in Oregon, but not much else. I'm flying to Oregon in 2 weeks to take my state board exam and to meet with some local chiropractors to find one to work with. I will be starting my own office within another person's office, so I can start building a patient base of my own while keeping overhead low. Hopefully that way I can get a good head start in practice before Robb and I start a family. My friend Sarah from high school just had her baby and named her Sophia Genevieve, so I've got babies on my mind right now! ...but don't get any ideas people...we have a lot of settling in to do before all of that!

Update

Hello everyone! I haven't been on any really exciting vacations or done anything amazing lately, but life is good. Robb and I are settling into married life quite nicely. At least our fish are still alive, so maybe we are getting closer to being ready for parenthood. (We don't intend to start being parents anytime soon, but at least we can handle fish.) Robb bought a guitar, so it reminds me of the old days in 4th Lincoln. I also had to write my testimony this week for church to share with a women's group I'm in. It reminded me of how wonderful all of you are and how much I miss seeing you all more often. Anyway, I have to go to class, but I hope to hear from you soon!

1 Month Anniversary

Today is Robb and my 1 month anniversary of our marriage! We are finally settled in here and we are done traveling for a little while. We still have a pile of Thank you notes to write, but other than that, the wedding to do list is disappearing. Our marriage is going so well and we are having such a great time learning how to cook together, shop together, go to church together, and everything else... Life is good! I hope you all keep updating your blogs because I really like having a way to keep up with all of you without writing e-mails to each person seperately. Anyway...more to come!

So soon, and not soon enough!

It is difficult to believe that Robb and I will be married in 26 days and that I just started my 9th Trimester at Logan (9/10!). We thought our engagement would feel rushed since we only had 6 months, but it has taken a surprisingly long time. Now we are one month away and I've got nothing left to do really, except wait (and I'm not very good at that!). School is going by quickly as well. Although I am in the middle of Tri 8 finals week we have already started Tri 9 clinic. I have a limited number of patients currently, so I am keeping myself busy here by blogging to avoid studying. It's not like a medical clinic where you can just hang up a sign and the appointment book fills up - we have to recruit. I wish school was closer to home so that I could get you folks to come, but I guess this is good practice for me. I will be working here until December when I graduate. By then I need to recruit and treat quite a few more patients and be here for an un-Godly amount of hours. Luckily we don't take classes in Tri 10, so that lightens the load a bit. I've been making excuses for 4 months now saying, well Ill try to get patients after I settle in at clinic, or after Boards, or after Easter, or after finals, or after the wedding/honeymoon. Those are all valid excuses, but once May comes, I'll be all out of them. Imagine if you had to give health talks, do screenings, or go door to door in search of people to come to your place of business. It is weird and uncomfortable. I love chiropractic, but marketing is now my forte. Oh well - it's not going to get any easier when we move to Oregon and I start my own practice. Enough ranting...what have you folks been up to??

Here is a picture from my bridal shower. Thank you to everyone who attended. I had a great time and it was great to see you all again! The wedding is going to be here before I know it. A six month engagement seems even shorter when you stuff Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Tri 8, Clinic, Board Exams, Easter, a church retreat and Finals in it! We are getting our invitations on Wednesday, so I can't wait to get them out to everyone! All of the plans are coming along great. We have all the contracts in order, so all I need to do it manage the final payments and tie up some loose ends. Mom and Grandma are taking care of the Ohio reception and Robb's Mom and Dad are planning the Oregon reception, so that takes a lot of work off my hands. The Ohio reception is going to be on May 24th - the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. It works out really well for us, but a lot of people already have plans made for that weekend, so we'll see. We are inviting about 100 people to attend and we are having it at a pavilion on our lake. I got my reception dress the other day. I ordered it online from Maui and it is great. Somehow I ordered myself an X-Small (which is rediculous! My computer must have scrolled when I meant to roll up the page or something). By the time I realized it the dress had left Hawaii, so I didn't open it and sent it back. The guy sent me a large on Friday and I tried it on and thought it was great. I ate Chipotle for lunch and was feeling fat when I tried it on later and realized that it was infact a medium, so it is again going back to Hawaii in exchange for the proper size. Other than that, things have been running smoothly. I bought my shoes and stamps this week, so I'm ready to go. I can't wait...74 days to go!
