Visit from Mom
This past weekend my Mom drove out to see me and it was wonderful! It's been a while since I've had a visitor and it's always nice (hint, hint). It was really great though. She drove out on Friday after I got done with class and she came to watch my volleyball game at school. She doesn't understand how I have a long-distance boyfriend when I have 3 sexy shirtless men on my team. He's worth it - that's how!! :) Most of the things we wanted to see were closed already, so we just went to Ted Drewes for custard and came home. Saturday we went all out: The Butterfly house, Botanical Gardens with a Dale Chihuly glass exhibit, Budweiser Brewery Tour, Basillica (the church with the most mosaic tile in the world), supper at Blueberry Hill (owned by Chuck Berry), and the Muny (the largest outdoor theatre in the nation) for the show Gypsy. It was an awesome day. Oh, AND we found these two side by side stores with the most interesting junk/rumage furtiture stuff EVER - it was just like the shops you see on HGTV or TLC. We bought a fabulous wine rack. On Sunday I took her to my church and out for breakfast, so it was a perfect end to a perfect Weekend. I'm sorry I'm not in the digital age yet - pictures are a struggle for me. I should be done with my film shortly - especially when Robb comes in 3 1/2 weeks!! I can't wait!!

Dork
I apoligize that you all even know me. My Mom just read the Bluffton magazine to me and I am a loser! I don't know what drunken stupor I must have been in when I wrote that message, but apparently my boyfriend ranks higher than the name of my grad school. Fabulous!! In my defense, I really thought that was for our class only for a sort of 1 year reunion book thingy, but apparently I was wrong! Either way - I'm a dorky loser and I'm sorry you all have to claim me.

The farm.
This weekend I went with some friends from my church up to one of their parents houses in northern Missouri for a little camping trip. It was just for one night, but it was so great to be out of the city for a little while. My two friends who brought us there own about 200 arces of land there -mostly fields, but a creek and 2 ponds and some woods too. (For those of you unfamiliar with acrage ...that is a lot of land - enough so that when you stand out in the middle you can't see any other house, person, or civilization in any direction) It was so great to be out in the country again. I'd almost forgotten how awesome that feels to just be alone in nature. We went swimming in one of thier spring-fed ponds and it was beautiful! (minus some scum on the bottom) I love St. Louis, but there is just something about being surrounded by wheat fields that does it for me...I just can't explain it.
